His comments made could've made his point clearer with a few additional or different choice of some simple words, however Don has never been a wordsmith at the best of times with his rambling off the cuff style or presenting. And he's not likely to apologize for a bad choice or a word or phrasing, considering the context though he may clarify, but that wouldn't have been until next week.

I think you are assuming an awful lot here. And again, I disagree that his intent is in the first place so easily construed, and secondly that it even matters. What he said was totally inappropriate, and I expect was the last straw in a series of embarrassing mis-steps which completely exhausted the company.
Next Saturday I will tune in for the first intermission of the early game for the first time in over a decade.
