I rewatched it in full and it's a train wreck from the start. Ron was scrambling a bit

-Sabourin was not hurt he put a thumb up, who cares if his lower body was paralyzed
-Ron says senators are smoking, cherry interrupts him 'what'd I say about JD smith boy!' spitting it in Ron's face. Ron 'dj..' Don 'alright'. Two seconds later Don goes with jd again
-Ron what about pageault guy is +16' Don 'yah i know but i wanna talk about connor brown'
-onto Max Domi and his diabetic dog 'his dog knows when he needs a shot of diabetic stuff, or whatever they call it'
-Onto goalie neck protectors.. 'Patrick Roy, best goalie of all time' (now muttering under his breath to ron, almost inaudible) 'but we won't say he has Tourette's something something.' Like W T F!

So controversy aside, the segment was a disaster.
