My grandfather, who served in WWII and was a die hard conservative, would have told Cherry he was a bigot. This old guy can use whatever words he wants, but he can also love with the consequences of spouting them on a national broadcast.
As for poppies falling off, every day I get one and every day it’s gone. I swear they do that on purpose.
