I like how we can just throw out disgust at "outrage culture" to justify anything dumb anyone says or does now. That's almost as bad as outrage culture itself. No, the response to this isn't just "outrage culture".
Don's comments were stupid, and he deserves the criticism. I don't even disagree that people (all people) could do a much better job understand and paying respects to the sacrifices of military personnel. That would be solid point, if he made it. Instead he took the cheap, inaccurate and holier than thou strategy by wagging his finger at and generalizing about people that are new to the country. Dumb comment.
Don't even get me started about how thinking you are some supreme patriot by putting a plastic flower on your lapel, but someone who uprooted their entire family and way of life to be here yet somehow forgot to get (or lost) that same plastic flower somehow cares less about the country. Don has no idea how anyone walking the streets of the country feels about being here.
