Yeah, Feaster made some good moves and really got the rebuild going, but the problem was he had too many attention grabbing misfires to get work again.
Now I believe Flames ownership probably screwed him a bit as this was really their first rebuild in the cap era NHL and they weren't having any of it after a decade of sell outs and great revenue. When feaster came out and claimed "we aren't rebuilding" that was ownership telling him not to rebuild.
But ultimately when you add up the O'Reilly fiasco, the attempt at a top dollar long-term Brad Richards who would fall from grace months later, horrendous returns on Regehr, Iginla and Bouwmeester and you can see why teams just had and have no interest.
