Rittich has been average, for a starter. Nothing more, nothing less. He gives you what any NHL team should expect as a bare minimum: he hasn’t cost the team entire games, but he also hasn’t won any by himself either.
But I guess with all the doozies we’ve been treated to over the years, I can understand why some might think this is what great goaltending looks like.
