If he clears, he won't need to clear again until he has spent 30 days on an NHL roster or played 10 NHL games, whichever comes first.
If he clears and is sent down, that 30 day/10 game threshold will still apply if he gets recalled later in the season. The count is cumulative over multiple recalls.
If he were to be traded, his waiver status would follow him to the new team.
