The unfortunate part is I think with the new arena deal flames will chase any whiff of playoffs to keep ticket sales going. New, expensive arena breaking ground. A struggling, rebuilding team, in an economic downturn, is a really really bad look.
But heck, maybe the nhl hands the flames some 1st overall picks to help accelerate things like they did for the oilers.
