If I was Kenney I keep hitting all the points about how the federal government needs to enforce federal jurisdiction on pipelines and stay out of provincial jurisdiction on resource projects, along with all the other points in how we r good citizens of the federation. It really all comes down to TMX. Albertans are angry and frustrated but meaningful construction work starting on the pipeline and surviving court challenges will go a long way to giving everyone some release. It’s also the best chance for us to get oil to the ocean ASAP along with all the benefits Canada gets. It’s the line in the sand. If it gets stalled for any reason, including court quashing, it’s time to initiate referendums on equalization and other measures. I tell Trudeau to pass TMX as being in the national advantage and to fight like hell on these next court cases because if it goes down it’ll be his fault for not showing up to court in the prelim hearing and not taking steps to insulate his investment from vexatious lawsuits. If he wants to risk it that’s his call but Albertans will justifiably blame him if this pipe is sidetracked. No more delays. If TMX gets cancelled...makes you wonder why we pay so much in to Canada for no benefits.
