If they want to remain in power, after tonight, they'll need support from other parties. They can try vote by vote, but if it comes to forming a coalition the pressure the NDP would have to cancel Trans Mountain likely outweighs any support they would retain/get from sticking with their approval of Trans Mountain.
But sure, the political party that approved a pipeline twice and then purchased it to keep it from being completely kyboshed was secretly in league with the Federal Court of Appeal - no less with judges appointed by Harper - because of...reasons. It's a conspiracy theory that now has a chance of becoming a self fulfilled prophecy. Can't wait for all the "see I told you Trudeau would cancel it" now that Trudeau doesn't have the ability to push it through even if he wanted to. Not without working with other parties...
