To be fair a lot of experienced referees retired in the past five years and there are a lot of officials that have been fast tracked as they are hiring officials with less than 10 years experience. A lot of blame has to go to the NFL for cheaping out in their bargaining with the officials union as they suspended their full time officiating program which hasn't helped the situation. I never understood how a league that makes billions in annual revenues would cheap out with something as important to their product as officiating. IMO they should be investing as much money as possible into officiating because better officiating makes for better games.
