Upgrade. Which was the best.
Incredibles 2 was pretty much as expected. Very well done, entertaining and everything, really solid as a superhero film. I couldn't however help but feel like it kind of tried too hard at times, especially with the family relations stuff. But really that's more of a nitpick.
Would recommend.
Hotel Artemis... It was nice, but felt really pointless. There was also just a completely unnecessary amount of "plot", or twists for no purpose, for a movie that wasn't really going anywhere. The story really needed for Jodie Foster to carry the whole thing and be someone the audience cares about, but she was easily the least interesting part of the whole thing, outside of the question of "why is she in this movie"? It's an okay movie, but there's so many better movies out there, so
would not recommend.
One solid
hallway fight scene though.
The First Purge. Haven't seen the others, and based on this likely won't see them either. Great concept on paper, but I felt like the film ultimately just went through the motions. The execution is fine, but basic. Check it out if you want to support hot topic film making, but if you just want the good bits, read the plot synopsis and you won't miss out on anything.
