It's practically impossible, which leads to "who gets caught" situation, which is inherently unfair. Medical advancements in PED's are incredibly fast. What's good (untraceable/uncheckable) today, becomes no good (traceable/checkable) tomorrow. Professional athletes choose to subject their bodies to a tremendous amount of physical and mental abuse; not just in NHL, in all pro-sports. PED's are just one of the tools available to them. Legalizing PED's would make them safer and more scrutinized, medically.
