Gomez has a kick a$$ passing rating that we wanted. He is younger and a more skilled player. Getting a guy like him proved to be very challenging and the price was steep. But, with langkow having a career year, the time was NOW to trade him while he is hot.
Aquired from the Hurricanes for Anson Carter earlier in the year, Langkow has been solid for the Panthers.
Taylor Chorney is a great young dman and will look great in the ECHL. The Panthers let JJ go in this trade but felt the youth and skill of Gomez, not to mention his kick a$$ ratings, was worth it.
