Bennett....poor poor Bennett. Less then 9 mins of icetime and another minor penalty. Ah well, that 1 period he got in the top 6 is something I'll never forget.

I watched Bennett last night. On not less than a couple of occasions, you could see how being slotted on the 4th line is not helping
They showed, in the second intermission I believe, a highlight where Jankowski was struggling with the puck in his feet near the Flyers blue line. Bennett picked it up, drove towards the slot, taking a defender, passed the puck left to Jankowski, who got a weak chop on it and it went wide
That wasn’t the only time that Jankowski was struggling with the puck and Bennett picked it up
I saw shortly after that in the third Bennett approaching the opposing blue line and Czarnik making a cross ice pass that was way behind him, killing forward momentum and time and space, so he had to basically dump it in
It is disappointing because he is better than these guys.
What I would like to see is Peters do something like Burke said he did in Vancouver. Burke said he went in to the dressing room early in the season when they were struggling and told the team he wasn’t trading anyone until some certain date. It was up to them to get it together.
Now I would like to see Peters do that with his lines. Giving Bennett a chance in the top 6 for 6 minutes with the looming threat of demotion doesn’t seem to work
But if I recall correctly, Peters last year took the first 10 games as deliberately using the blender, then wanting to stabilize the lines after 10. I got that as the team was new to him, and feel like since the team has been kept mostly together, he should have a bit less blending this year
