Those who beat the drum like he’s the reason the team has looked so unimpressive this year...I just don’t get it. It’s Edmonton-levels of fan analysis of what’s going on, and also shows just how short your memories are. Dude was our best player and put up 5 pts in 5 games in the playoffs, which was a time when everyone else who is still on the team absolutely phoned it in.
I like him on this team for what he is today.

Seriously.........so what? What does that have to do with what is happening right now?
This club needs to actually get into the playoffs before anything like that matters to this season. He needs to be part of that as a contributing member of a group. He along with others, is NOT that at this point. In fact he has been a detriment at times with his bone headed penalties and juvenile one on one moves that lead to turnovers, which then lead to odd man rushes against.
He needs to be better. A whole lot better. Whether others are in the same boat or not is irrelevant. He was expected by many to "break out" this year and settle the 2nd line RW dilemma. Not even close. In fact he hasn't even settled the 3rd line problem at this time even if its not just him causing a problem. The less he plays, the better the club has done. Is that not worth exploring?
5th season. Still unable to establish a steady role. Still making rookie mistakes. Still good at fancy stats that mean absolutely sweet bugger all when the entire picture is viewed.
yeah, he is more than worthy for the discussion around him.
