It’s early and CGY has great skill. But some guys have to get to their games and execute.

I feel like the ability to breakout of your own zone vs apply a forecheck to disrupt/slowdown the opposition breakout is equivalent to the game within a game element of the offense vs defence lines in football.
The high skill players get the accolades, but it's usually a won line battle that results in a big football play. Just like how an nhl team looks 'fast' and generates tremendous scoring chances off the rush due to strong transition.
Flames were tremendous at transition/breaking out last year. They have been garbage so far this year. That may have something to do with rust and as poor start, but it also could be a lot of team scouting the avs playoff series, as colorado completely suffocated the flames breakout and transition game.
Peters has to be able to adapt.
