Mangiapane is picking himself off the ice almost every shift after getting knocked over in the corner or along the boards. Thats why I think he got moved off, in addition to a poor penalty.
Brushing snow off your knees every shift, especially on the second line, is not going to work very well to generate the chances needed with a guy like Tkachuk on the other wing. They need 5 guys upright otherwise they don’t have much of a chance to do anything on that shift.
He either can’t play that exact style in the NHL, or, needs to get bigger and stronger.
