Man, people are quick to judge kids and put a ceiling on their trajectory.
There are lots of top 6 players that were not in the NHL at 21. Lots. And Dube's progression has been excellent so far, IMO. To say that he isn't showing enough progression to have a chance at being a top 6 is crazy. In fact, IMO, it has been the exact opposite: I felt, when he was drafted, and when I watched him in junior and at the WJCs, that he was likely a middle-6 guy, and no more - I didn't really see top 6 offensive talent. But in the last year and a half, he has totally changed my mind. Now, I not only think that he has legit 200-ft game, but that he absolutely could become a top 6 guy offensively. Probably not Tkachuk levels of offense, but Backlund levels, and probably higher, are well within reach.
