I think Feaster was fine as a GM:
-I don't put much weight in the O'Reilly thing. A lot of GMs at the time seemed to agree that it probably would have been nothing.
-The return for Iginla wasn't that bad considering he was only going to be moved to one team, and he was an old 60 point UFA
-Drafting really improved. All of his 2011 picks spent time in the NHL.
-He wasn't even allow to start the rebuild until later on, and Sutter left him with no assets but a bunch of bad contracts
-He hired Snow, who is now the Assistant GM, and Bob Hartley, who won the Jack Adams
-Hudler was a good signing. Wideman signing isn't nearly as bad as people seem to recall. Scott Hannah was on a good contract as well. Feaster didn't really miss on UFA signings.
-Kris Russell was acquired for next to nothing.
-He acquired Stempniak for an aging injured Lankow, then extended Stempniak to a great contract
-Jankowski pick wasn't that bad in hindsight
