Kipper was crazy good, and played behind a pretty bad team for a lot of years. The Sutter take of "we're one piece away from a Cup" was well wrong. That team was a Kiprusoff injury away from a lottery pick, and that would have done them a world of good. Trading picks and prospects for that "we might win it this year" strategy was awful.
