Kipper is overrated. He had a couple good seasons and one out of his mind 2/3 of a season. I’m not sure he even makes my list for guys getting their number retired. FaF at best.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the guy and his super chill attitude but I think it hurt the team at times. It gets tiring when his poor stats in multiple seasons are rationalized as being he fault of the team in front of him. I also think that, somewhat similar to complaints about Johnny, if he’d taken things more seriously he may have been as good as his skill set sometimes allowed him to be.

People talk about Iggy not being a guy who was desperate to win based on some of his lacklustre defensive play and where he chose to play after Calgary but really it was Kipper who didn’t care about winning all that much.
