I preface this by saying I've been a huge fan of Backlund since he was drafted and that I'm not in this bizzare camp of posters who think he's not good (or that CGY isn't really deep).

However if Backlund is limited by injury in any way he should be sat. What's the point of depth if you don't use it? Play Bennett with Tkachuk and Frolik - that line is too vital to CGY as they are the shut down line.

If Backlund is having some mobility issues how is it wise that he's playing against the opponent's most dynamic players? If you have poor depth then maybe I can get behind the 'his 70% is better than other's 100%' arguments.

But that is not the case with this team. Use that bench you made all that effort to assemble.

Tkachuk Bennett Frolik
Mangiapane Ryan Rieder
Lucic Jankowski Czarnik

Let Backlund get right - don't risk him getting injured worse and don't put him in a situation where he can't thrive (until he's healthy and then we all know how good he is in the shut down role).
