The concern though is you turn everyone against VAR by setting it too high. We're seeing it in the NFL where I suspect by seasons end everyone will want challenging PI to be scrapped (significant amounts of fans already do). The point of replay should not be to correct "clear and obvious errors", it should be to get the call right. No, it wasn't a clear and obvious error, but it also wasn't a penalty. So get the call right, don't just fix what is perceived to be a clear and obvious error.

End of the day though Girly was right that Albrighton should have put that ball into row Z, or even let Schmeichel claim it. Penalty or not, he made an absolute mess of that.
