Awesome news, and a fair contract. How great is it hearing his words about keeping teammates around? Wow.
If anything, Tkachuk is underrated due to the tremendous affect he has in all three zones and all the little things he does that go relatively unnoticed - his slip passes and creative purposeful chips are top tier in the entire league which makes breakouts and the cycle seem effortless when he's involved.
Further to his play on the ice, he brings many intangibles off the ice, too. Always shows up ready for work, takes care of himself in the gym and with nutrition, fantastic human, active in the community, by all accounts approachable by fans of all ages, well-spoken.
The Flames are lucky to have him and I hope the Flames are the only team he ever plays for.
