The image is full of things that the players and teams are known for -- Johnny's Skittles, Kessel's hot dog, Subban's fiance, etc.
The jersey has two meanings. It represents the ghost of Gretzky and the success of the 80s that the entire city of Edmonton has used to convince themselves that they are somehow hockey gods who are above criticism and destined for future success. They truly believe that somehow Edmonton is special and deserves success, so they don't have to work for it. It also represents Oiler fans throwing their jerseys on the ice in frustration when the rest of the hockey world doesn't just roll over and give them what they believe they are entitled to receive.
