I loved Dark Knight too, even the "plot holes" that people point out, actually make sense.
No Joker didn't intend to get caught like Gordon said, he just had a contingency plan if he did.
He had one trigger for both boats because they'd both blow up if anyone pulled the trigger.
Joker left the party after Batmam jumped out the window because that (wrongly) confirmed that Batman was Harvey Dent. He had no use for anyone else at the party so he left, not unlike he did with the mobster meeting.
Also, despite Batman catching him in the end, Joker won, he achieved his ultimate goal, he turned Gotham against Batman.
Throw in a better than perfect performance by Heath Ledger and viola.
Also, with Shawshank Redemption, Andy Dufresne totally killed his wife and her lover. Great movie, makes you feel for the murderer, he redeems himself with a perfect plan of escape to make up his failed perfect plan for murder.
