I found Peters’ comments interesting about the team identity based on lineup. Last year with Ryan and Mangiapane (especially second half) they had a fourth line that could score. Peters said something that hinted maybe they were expecting a different role (I could be wrong).
I think everyone enjoyed the regular season last year - that was amazing, high skill hockey. The goals and how they scored a lot of them was just fun to watch. Do they want a change? I could be reading too much into those comments.
Do they want Lucic and Rieder in and expect less offence from fourth line?
Some people could see him off the team but I want Czarnik’s offensive potential - I like skill, I want to see plays, offensive chances.
Now I’m down with Lucic in the lineup and I think faster heavier was needed. Kind of like Frolik said was needed during garbage bag day - but I still want guys to play same identity ie fast, skill game - move puck fast or skate fast. Like Gio said in playoffs they didn’t play to their identity, meaning they don’t have to change that identity. So no fourth line that doesn’t create chances and just checks.
Make plays with every line all over the ice.
