would have preferred the Point deal AAV number and a slightly more balanced AAV (ie not landing at 9 in the final year)... i don't believe Tkachuk is as good at Point. imo.

i had thought it was going to be 5 years at 8 million, so the deal he did get was even a little richer.

the positive of the 3 year deal is that calgary will have a lot of guys coming to their contract year at the same time, so they will have a number of decisions that will have to be made simultaneously.

Once Point got done and no deals had been made i think most figured a bridge would happen in order to get this done before the season.

ok deal i think, not a fantastic deal for either side though i would definitely skew it to Tkachuk's camp
