The good thing about the signing bonuses and ELC contract slide is that if Pelletier's contract does (i.e. he doesn't play 10 NHL games this season) in fact slide then his cap hit will go down as the bonus is paid out but the new cap hit is calculated based on remaining compensation minus the paid out bonus.

If Pelletier did get $925k including the $92.5k signing bonus and his contract did slide to next year, his cap hit would be $894.167k for next year.

May not seem like much but cap savings here and there can add up.
