I like Zag a lot too, but I wouldn't read too much into preseason. Talbot will get plenty of rope to hang himself before they bring Zag up.
However, he does seem like the perfect 3rd string option. His pro experience in Russia means he can handle the pressure more than someone like Parsons. Gillies just isn't trustworthy anymore to call up (unless he somehow miraculously turns things around).
I like how calm he is in net, but he's athletic enough to cover the passing plays. Maybe a little loose at times, but it's something that can be worked on in the minors. He's only 24 which is the right age for goalies to start to pop. Could be a real diamond in the rough, along with the other Russian: Yelesin.
