I know when you fly in the US, you're allowed upto 3 ounces of liquids..each item that is liquid can be upto 3 ounces, and all of them have to fit into one ziplock bag (the regular sized ones, not the huge ones). If the container for the liquid item is larger than 3 ounces, even if you only have a drop of liquid in it, they will NOT allow it. In other words, the container MUST be 3 oz or less as well! Id go with those travel sized liquids..
and ladies, lip gloss is a liquid, as are mascara, hair gel, and liquid deodorant.
there are exceptions to baby formula and medications, but you have to have the prescription for the meds.
check the federal aviation website for more info....
regarding the camera/laptop, yes, you can fly with em both. at security, they will ask you to take em out of the bag, put it in the plastic bin, and that's it. no problems at all.
The above is info for flying into, and within the USA. I'm not familiar with Canadian regulations, but I can't imagine them being that different.
