No, F off. Mall security exists to be a visible deterrent to would be shoplifters. Leave the whole "professionalized security guard" with a hero complex at home. They won't help anybody.

Just because they are more professionalized doesn't mean they will be jackoffs with hero complexes. Technically it's already private as the security is employed by the mall. It is really more of a point that if they invest the capital in actual training around a multitude of circumstances it will enhance the overall safety. Clearly the security at Crossiron has never had training on or protocols put in place on how to direct people during an active shooter. In the current climate security can no longer just be a visible deterrent, they will be the first people in line to help people before police can show up. The training would really just have to be about how to properly get people to safety, much like lockdown procedures at schools with teachers.
