I believe 3 years still means he'll be RFA for two years after this deal. That makes it a little less risky to sign him and then have to deal with a QO/arbitration hearing making him a UFA as early as possible, as opposed to say Tkachuk signing for 3 years. Therefore I think the term favours the Canucks, so anything under 6M I would reluctantly call a win for the Canucks.
