I don't blame the guy for fighting over a potential huge difference (a factor of 10x last year) between playing in the AHL vs the NHL. Even fighting for a higher AHL salary guarantees him a higher minimum and doesn't leave him in limbo of having to decide if he's making 700,000 this year or 70,000. A signing bonus, a higher AHL salary, a minimum guarantee clause, all of those would be significant improvements to the QO and would be the difference for Mangiapane to make a big purchase, like say a house, knowing he can afford it even if he does make his way to the AHL.

It does mean something to Trelving though

AMs situation may not be impacted by a 2-way, but any contract Brad signs could stand to be used as leverage in another negotiation.
