This is actually my post to which you have responded (I am not sure what happened, here.

In principle, I agree, but I don't think this is practically realistic. Brodie carries high enough of a cap hit that a team who acquires him will most likely also need to move salary to fit him in. He is one year from impending free agency, so anyone who adds him this year probably views him as a key piece to winning now.

Like I mentioned above, we already see the building blocks in place on the sort of deal that Treliving wants to make for Brodie, and that deal is a hockey trade—one which does not provide much of any cap relief.
