I guess, but WR is tough to pay for team performance.
Seen on Reddit, the last 25 Super Bowl winners, only 2 had WR that made more then 9% of the teams salary cap. D. Thomas in 2016 for Denver and Sidney Rice for Seattle in 2014 (and Rice blew his knee out in October and never played down the stretch or in the SB (or ever again)).
Now, Jones is one of the few others in that time period with that same cap percentage hit, that at least made it to the SB. And relatively speaking, he’s put up consistent stats year over year, so in the WR market, to comparables, he is worth it. But it takes a lot of flexibility out for the team cap space.
Sounds now like he’s making a record aav $22m a year for 3 years, with a recording breaking $64 of that $66 guaranteed at signing. Yikes.
