I can't speak for what's right for other people, but I'm glad I was not in that situation as a child.
My biggest worry is it's not the kids that are pushing the decision but the parents, the parents of these kids seem to be clearly really wanting their kids to be transgendered or at the very least 'groovy and interesting in a lefty kind of way' in the same way that the parents of racists are usually also wack jobs, I have an 11 year old foster son who seems to likely to grow up to be gay or possibly transgendered, it is not my job to encourage this, it is my job to let him know I will love him and stand by him what ever path he chooses for himself.

My job, every parents job, is to give my kid the space and freedom to work out what the hell he wants to be firm in the knowledge that I will be his dad no matter what.
