At the end of the day, whether you make the cut off 14, 16, or 18, there are potential downsides.

My biggest worry would be a child making a life-altering decision when they're too young to make that decision. But on the other side, waiting until 18+ also involves some serious setbacks and obstacles for individuals with genuine gender dysphoria.

I can't speak for what's right for other people, but I'm glad I was not in that situation as a child.
