I used to seek out any and every opinion of the TV talking heads to see what they had to say about my favorite team. I would be glued to TSN and HNIC. Now, I don't really give a poop. It seems everyone except for a select few are just blowhards going for a hot take rather than decent analysis. There's better analysis in print now anyway. Actual opinion backed up by research.

I won't really miss Kypreos and I definitely won't miss Maclean or Shannon.

As for the good ones, Mckenzie is the best. Friedman isn't really a hockey guy, but the perspective he takes as more of a journalist really works for him.

I don't really wan't to lose Hrudey on the local broadcast, but I think he's a way better analyst than a color guy.
I completely agree. I find almost all the hockey analysis I get on TV to be meaningless to me. That's because I follow my favourite team so closely, that whatever the 30s summary they state on TV regarding the flames is like reading a newspaper headline from yesterday's paper (it's a 1 liner summary of something everybody already knows).

I think the one things that sportsnet has done well, particularly for Calgary, is having a solid regional team. The sportnet crew covering the flames games do provide a solid perspective of the flames news and analysis.

The national team analysis is typically garbage. I actually didn't mind Kypreos, especially by the end. The only part of the national broadcast I can stand or even tune into is the hockey hot stove or whatever, typically the 2nd intermission of game 1 of HNIC. Not real analysis, but some decent rumours and speculation talk with guys like Friedmann.
