Ok. I'm not honestly trying to say that Vans are as nice looking as quality dress shoes. What I am trying to say is that a clean pair of Vans do not get noticed at all, being worn to a wedding or an xmas party, or anywhere that black shoes are required.

If you're becoming partner at your law firm, maybe you wear the leather shoes. I've worn Vans to many occasions and had multiple "F-U, I didn't even notice... Wish I though of that". So, ymmv.
