I can, but I would prefer to talk with someone to see if I can get it the cost reduced & demerits reduced/removed (although I can't find any info on how many demerits accompany the charge, and neither could the justice of the peace).
Ultimately I would rather pay $100-150 than bother going to court.
If my representative talks with a judge and can't get a reasonable reduction, I can just ask them to plead not guilty at that point, and get a court date scheduled for a date that works though.
