I want Canadian players in the Canadian Football League. I’m not saying the ratio shouldn’t change but it shouldn’t be killed. The caliber of play would improve but it would severely restrict options for Canadian players and severely hamper and maybe kill university programs, also alienate fans like me who has been a fan of this league for over 55 years and a season ticket holder for most of those years. I don’t want an American CFL. There have been excellent Canadian players who would not have had pro careers if there was no ratio. Stars like Jon Cornish and Dave Fennell would still have had careers but lesser players might have no opportunity to develop their skills to become quality players and, in some cases, stars. I could name many of those.
