Given his personality, I see him as pretty much as a goaltending coach. Head coaches have to be pretty intense. Probably why a no-BS guy like Bill Peters clashed with him.

He complained when he didn't get a fair shake in his opinion from the Flames, so sounds like, from the way he got let go in Vancouver, Peters ripping him in Carolina, complaining here, and bounced out of NJ after a handful of games, teams clearly and certainly tire of him fairly quickly, that the happy go lucky aura is more for the cameras then as a sign of a "cool" teammate who has the actual respect of his teammates and coaches.
