I've recently purchased a DVD recorder and have used it a couple times. The first time, for whatever reason, I set it to record 4 hours (games should take 3 hr MAX), and the quality wasn't very good. The DVD would pause for a second or two during playback. But since then, I've set it to record at 3 hour length, and works great. Not quite the original broadcast quality, but pretty good.

I'm using a Panasonic that I got for half price (open box). Reg was $250. DVD's are a stack of 100 Kodak's for $25. Not exactly expensive, and they seem to work great. They are only 4X recording speed, which matters not in this case.
