I think Tre has done a good job at keeping contracts at the top of our roster down compared to what other teams are paying their top players. The tough part has been keeping the bottom of the lineup cheap and the only players that really fit that were younger up and coming guys. I do think he will learn from his over payments on middle tier and bottom tier of the lineup type players but also probably expected bigger contributions from guys like Brouwer and then Neal. Filling out bottom roster out with younger players and journeymen type guys on cheap or 2 way contracts is how things need to be done even for teams that don't have 10 million plus contracts at the top. I think buying out Stone is a good move as dumping someone else rather then making a good hockey trade would mean selling to low. Still not sure if this is enough but it is a step towards getting everyone else to fit.
