Pretty fair assessment but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to hold Tre accountable for buying out his 4th contract. I’m pretty sure that’s more than average.
There were some reasons to sign Stone at the time but it was an overpay in dollars and term from the outset, regardless of the emergence of young players or his injury.
Look around the league and you don’t see a lot of bottom pairing signed to $3.5 million. And he was always bottom pairing from the second he signed that contract.
