With how much money both the city and CSEC is putting down on the new arena. I don't think either party has the appetite for funding a new football stadium to replace McMahon due to the lack of ROI in how low the usage volume would be for it compared to the arena.

A renovated McMahon is the best we're gonna get. And personally I feel that's enough for a CFL team. The fondation is there; just needs to be modernized. It's possible to refresh it enough to make it a good quality stadium.

There is some documents out there that acknowledge some plans that have been considered recently in how a renovated McMahon would look. I've linked them below.

In the report below, it gives details into what the design should consist that we already know about (track, gyms, pool, and new twin arena), possibility of partnering up with the university in funding and building the facility, as well possibly what will be done with McMahon stadium. The McMahon Stadium Society is interested in starting phase 1 of 4 in renovations that would cost $25M. It would be renovated concourses with enhanced and new washrooms, concessions, and circulation.
