^^ Agreed. We no longer have guys like Burris, Calvillo and Ray — who could play 16 games a year plus playoffs at a high level. Before them you had Dunigan, Austin, Ham, McManus, Flutie, Dickenson, etc.
I would argue the quality of receivers has not kept up as well — no Allen Pitts, Jock Climie, Darren Flutie or Ben Cahoon who would dominate for 10+ years — instead guys are looking to go to the NFL and/or are getting replaced with younger, cheaper players.
The CFL is a passing league so it’s hard to have success when your QB’s have sub-100 passing yards in a half.
