Yes and no. Not all buildings are created or used equally.
The Saddledome would probably qualify as a 'Heavy-Use' building as opposed to something like an office building.
You've got to cool it, heat it, often both at the same time, staff it when its at capacity 40+ times per year, you have huge numbers of people going through it and all of this at the same time in a building that is at a disadvantage due to its unique shape and structure and its even survived a natural disaster.
All things considered its done extremely well over its lifetime, but I would hope that all plans for a future facility take that into consideration and hopefully have a building that can be maintained, repaired and renovated to last significantly longer.
